Theragun Mini Plus Review India: Is a Heated Mini Worth It?
Quick answer: The Therabody Theragun Mini Plus heated massage gun is the only travel-size Theragun with heat built in. It has three speeds (1,750, 2,100 and 2,400 percussions per minute), a 10 mm stroke, a Heated Percussive Plus head with three heat levels (45, 50 and 55°C), USB-C charging and Bluetooth for the Therabody app. At WOD Armour it costs ₹24,999 at the time of writing. It's worth it if you want warm, quiet, portable relief for warm-ups, travel and desk stiffness. It isn't the best pick if you want deep-tissue power, the lightest possible gun or the best value for money.
Below we answer what people actually search: is it worth it, what attachments it has, how it compares with the Mini 3, Prime Plus and Hypervolt Go 3, and how long the battery lasts.
Theragun Mini Plus specs at a glance
These figures come from Therabody's product page, its Mini Plus help page and its Theragun buying guide:
- Stroke length (amplitude): 10 mm
- Speeds: 3 presets: 1,750, 2,100 and 2,400 PPM, with custom speeds in the app
- Heat: 3 levels on the included head: 45°C, 50°C and 55°C (Therabody)
- Battery: up to 120 minutes, less with heat on (more on this below)
- Size: 156 × 115 × 130 mm
- Weight: Therabody lists 886 g, the same figure it gives the full-size Prime Plus; a Therabody distributor's comparison chart says 565 g. Either way, it's heavier than the Mini 3rd Gen.
- Charging and app: USB-C (no wall plug in the box), Bluetooth to the Therabody app
- Travel lock: yes. Press the power button three times quickly to lock or unlock it.
What attachments come with the Theragun Mini Plus?
Just one: the Heated Percussive Plus head. You also get a USB-C cable and a travel pouch. The manual says the Mini Plus works with Therabody's "Plus" heads: Cold Plus, Vibration Plus, Standard Ball, Wedge, Micro-point, Dampener and Thumb. All of them are sold separately. Cold therapy needs the Theragun Cold Plus attachment (5, 10 and 15°C), which we list at ₹8,999 at the time of writing. Ask us about stock before you order.
Is the Theragun Mini Plus worth it? Our honest review
What it does well
- Heat in a small body. No other Theragun this small has heat, which makes cold-morning warm-ups and a stiff neck after a long drive far more comfortable.
- Quiet. In Prevention's month-long test, the reviewer called the motor "whisper-quiet" and rarely needed more than the lowest speed.
- Room to grow. It takes Plus heads, so you can add cold or vibration later.
What to know before you buy
- It's gentler than it looks. The 10 mm stroke is shallower than the 16 mm Prime and Pro range. In a Reddit thread, an owner said it felt less intense than their older Mini 2nd Gen (12 mm). MedGrade's review reached the same view: great for warm-ups and travel stiffness, but not a replacement for a deep-tissue gun.
- Heat eats battery. Therabody says up to 120 minutes, varying by attachment. One owner on Reddit reported about 30 minutes with heat on high. Plan to charge it every few sessions if you use heat every time.
- Bigger than other minis. The same Reddit owner found it a tight fit in a jacket pocket.
- Only one head in the box. The Mini 3rd Gen comes with three.
Does heat on a massage gun actually help?
- Massage guns: A 2023 systematic review (13 studies) found one session may briefly improve flexibility and strength, and repeated sessions may reduce muscle pain, though many studies had weaknesses. A 2026 meta-analysis of 12 trials found possible benefits for jump recovery, but no clear benefit for strength recovery or next-day soreness. Longer sessions (over 5 minutes per muscle group) were linked to higher soreness scores.
- Heat: In a trial of 100 people with post-squat soreness, heat applied straight after exercise preserved strength and reduced pain. But those wraps were worn for 2 to 8 hours, a far bigger dose than a few minutes with a heated head.
- The "3x faster" claim: Therabody's footnote says this comes from its own 30-second lab test of muscle oxygenation, elasticity and temperature, not an independent clinical trial.
Our take: Expect the Mini Plus to make warm-ups and stiff muscles feel better. Don't expect it to "fix" soreness; sleep, food and training load matter most.

Theragun Mini Plus vs Mini 3
The most searched comparison. The Theragun Mini 3rd Gen is smaller, lighter, lists a longer battery and has three heads, for ₹9,000 less at the time of writing. The Mini Plus adds heat and takes Plus heads such as Cold Plus. Want a bag-sized gun? Get the Mini 3. Will you actually use heat on stiff traps or a tight lower back? Get the Mini Plus.
Theragun Mini Plus vs Prime Plus
At current WOD Armour prices the Theragun Prime Plus costs only ₹7,000 more, for a deeper 16 mm stroke, five speeds and four heads, including the same heated head. If you train hard and the gun mostly stays at home or in your locker, the Prime Plus is better value. More in our Theragun Prime Plus review.
Theragun Mini Plus vs Hypervolt Go 3
The Hyperice Hypervolt Go 3 has the same 10 mm stroke, five speeds and a much longer official battery (about 4 hours), for about ₹9,000 less at the time of writing. It has no heat, though. Pick the Go 3 for value and battery, or the Mini Plus for heat and Theragun's triangle grip. See our Hypervolt Go 3 review.
Theragun Mini Plus vs Relief
The Theragun Relief is Therabody's simplest gun for everyday aches, and the budget pick if you don't need heat. For the full range, see which Theragun to buy in India.
How to use the Theragun Mini Plus
- Turn it on: press and hold the power button. Press it again to cycle through the three speeds (shown by one, two or three lights).
- Choose heat: press the second button to cycle through three heat levels. Start on low. The head reaches its highest setting (55°C) in under a minute, according to Therabody.
- Keep it moving: glide it slowly over the muscle with light to moderate pressure. The manual says not to press straight onto a painful spot. Work around it instead.
- Keep sessions short: Therabody's ambassador routine uses 15-second bursts on each area. The 2026 meta-analysis above linked sessions longer than 5 minutes per muscle group to more soreness, not less.
- Lock it for travel: press the power button three times quickly.
Not sure which speed to use? See our guide on massage gun speed settings.
Heat not working?
If the lights blink orange five times and the head stays cold, the manual says the heated attachment has overheated or hit an error. Switch off, rest it for 60 minutes and try again; contact us if it still won't heat.
Who should avoid it or check with a doctor first
Therabody's manual says not to use it if you have epilepsy or heart disease, or over open wounds, fractures, a DVT, the face, throat or a surgical site. See a doctor first if you're pregnant, diabetic, have a pacemaker, a bleeding disorder or reduced sensation. With reduced sensation, take extra care with heat.
Can you carry the Theragun Mini Plus on a flight in India?
Therabody calls it TSA-approved for US flights, and it has a built-in 2,000 mAh lithium-ion battery (per the manual). Indian airlines apply lithium-battery rules; Air India, for example, caps lithium-ion batteries at 100 Wh. Pack it in your cabin bag, switch on the travel lock and check your airline's rules before you fly.
Who should buy the Theragun Mini Plus?
- Buy it if: you travel often, warm up at the gym or court, sit at a desk all day, and like heat on stiff muscles.
- Skip it if: you want deep-tissue power (look at the Prime Plus or Theragun Pro Plus), the longest battery, or the cheapest good mini (the Mini 3 or Hypervolt Go 3).
