I've been a fan of Therabody products ever since my wife bought me the first generation of the Theragun mini and we've had a few different devices over the years so I was quite excited to get the 6th gen Prime. It arrives in quite an impressive box and once I had the cover open I was impressed with how everything looked and taking the Prime out immediately gave me a sense of quality and how solid the device felt and how it had a nice weight to it, but then my next thought was where's the carry case that virtually all Theraguns come with including it's gen 5 predecessor? Oddly there isn't one which was my first gripe.The Prime itself has a nice TPU rubber like outer that covers the whole device which is an upgrade to previous versions which had a more plastic outer shell so now it has the added protection with the rubber should you drop it. The upper part of the triangle handle is narrower than the bottom so allows different ways to grip and may be easier for smaller hands to grip the top. There is one attachment already on the Theragun in the box and then there's just one other attachment along with a USB cable and some instruction cards, so here's my next gripe, why only two heads and not four as the gen 5 had?The multiple instruction cards are quite interesting and useful to give you ideas on what heads to use for different parts of the body and what routines you can do to help when using the Theragun. The stroke length is 16mm which is the longest that Therabody do and the stall force is 35 lb which is the amount of pressure you'd need to apply to cause it to stop which to be honest not many people are likely to do given that it packs quite a punch without any additional pressure. There are 5 speed settings and at the highest it really does feel quite powerful so it's perfect for all muscle groups and the different levels are shown just above the power button which lights up when you turn it on with a long press. Above the speed indicator is a bar gauge which shows additional bars depending on how much pressure you're applying during use.As with all newer Theraguns you can set it up via Bluetooth with Therabody's mobile app and once you've done this you can use the app to control settings and also use the guided routines that are also found on the cards that come in the box.Another thing I like is that during use I noticed how quiet it is compared to my Mini and if I use it in a room with someone else it's not so distracting as some of their earlier devices are.So overall this Theragun Prime 6th gen is a really capable device and I really like it, but the fact that it costs the same as the 5th gen did when it was released but doesn't come with a travel case and has 2 less attachments has really taken the shine off it and this is the reason I dropped a star and I almost dropped 2 because the case omission really annoyed me as in my opinion it's an essential item that is inexpensive and should be included as standard especially as they don't even sell one as an accessory.So should you invest in one, I'd say yes if you want the latest version that's slightly more powerful, has a slightly modified handle which is easier for smaller hands and you have a habit of dropping things as the rubber shell will protect it. Otherwise it may be worth getting the 5th gen which comes with more and is now reduced due to the release of this one. So I do highly recommend it as it's a great device, they just annoyed me with the omissions.

There is so much I could say about this massage gun but I will try to condense what I have on my mind so as to not to write too long a review. I never heard of this brand before but my wifey tells me this is one of the leading brand when it comes to massage and wellness, and indeed they look like a premium manufacturer offering premium devices. This theragun arrived in a nice box and the contents include a manual, as well as some leaflets about some massage techniques for those who prefer printed material over the app and a charging cable. My first complaint that if any device deserves a carry case or pouch this is it. I have used massage guns that came in at a fraction of the price of this and have a handy carry case. This massage gun comes with 2 heads that can be changed, so where am I supposed to keep the one I'm not currently using? Many routines require both heads so I'd rather have it in place.The massage gun is super duper rugged and durable yet it's not as heavy as some people online make it out to be. It comes in at just under a kg, it may sound a lot, but I think it's actually quite manageable. Thanks to it's squarish handle and it's rubbery coating it's really nice to handle this device. The triangle grip is not just marketing nonsense it actually helps reaching hard to reach areas or to apply enough pressure in certain areas and it is a meaningful addition compared to other brands' solution. Operating this theragun is easy, but maybe it's too easy. A single press turns it on and it starts looking for your phone while the led on the power button blinks. If you long press the power button it will start the massage immediately and with a press of a button you can change the power level, in 5 steps. Now I hear that older models had an up and down button to change, but now with only one button one has to cycle through all steps and go in circles, and this is plain silly and shouldn't have been authorized at the product development. If I'm using level 2, and want to go down to level 1, instead of pressing a down button, I have to press the same button 4 times to go one level down?! Some other theragun models still have the up and down button, so please forget this nonsense and stick to what is logical?According to their website this massage gun can reach 16mm under the skin, which is the highest I've ever seen. Most cheap brands can only manage 5-6 and even the better ones around 11-12mm. This particular model is aimed at people living an active lifestyle. It helps with warming up muscles before training, or after training. It can help with recovery from injuries or as an everyday treatment. It's all scientifically backed up, according to the brand. While I have no way of testing it scientifically, I can say for sure, that this massage gun is amazing. Even a short few minute session before working out and after working out have a good effect on my day, workout, general well being. It helps you wake up, it helps you fall asleep and relax. I found the massage levels perfect, although there are complaint online this being too strong, I don't think it is, but it comes down to personal preference. It's definitely stronger than everything else I tried, but the level 1 and 2 options and the dampener head make it gentle enough to be used on sensitive areas like feet. The pressure level is indicated on the device, but I found this a bit inconsistent. Sometimes it feels like it lags behind, as in I'm pressing down like there is no tomorrow and for 2-3 seconds it's still showing me low pressure. It's even more noticeable when using it with the app, where this information needs to be sent over bluetooth.Speaking of the app...it's a very nice app I'll give them that. Nicely designed, but lacks dark mode. It needs a registration, which I didn't like, why can't I just log in with my google/apple account? I know it's hard to believe for the corporations but we end users don't like to register to hundreds of services, it's not convenient. The app connects with the device flawlessly, and has many massage routines with video that you can copy. There are some with music (mostly relaxing or upbeat warmup) but some of the music is not long enough to last until the end of the video, which looks half baked, at least they should put it on a loop. It's really annoying listening to upbeat music, warming up and I have 3 more minutes on the timer and no music. But my biggest complaint about the app is device sharing. This is an expensive device and something that the family could and should share. But the app cannot differentiate between profiles, family members. The massage gun can register with multiple apps but then the seamless connectivity is gone, as it struggles to figure out which phone to connect to. Once connected, it will display other users' massage data, which can be annoying, especially if you're someone who takes these data seriously.
